Benefits Of Lightweight Luggage Sets

When shopping for a luggage set or individual bags for your next travel, it’s important to pay attention to the weight and size of the empty luggage. Lightweight luggage made with aluminum, polycarbonate or fabric offers a number of benefits for both short and long trips. Lightweight luggage sets are, of course, lighter than standard luggage and reduce the strain and fatigue of taking your luggage around while traveling. Materials: What To Look For & What To Avoid

Don’t see the word “lightweight” in the blurb and believe it. Find the real weight with the size bearing in mind. The top limit to qualify as lightweight is at 9 or 10 pounds for a maximum-sized carry-on (21- 22 inches long). Nylon is the greatest material to make lightweight luggage. Here, I will not emphasize leather, ABS, aluminum. Although these materials look gorgeous, they may sometimes be really heavy. Nylon is also good at keeping shapes. It also has a long life and resistance to damage.

Frames: Metal Light Yet Tough Frames With No Wheels Attached

Honeycomb frames help lightweight luggage to keep good shapes while keeping ample strength and resiliency for long use. Metal frames are always linked with the word heavy, but it is not the story. A metal frame can be easy to maneuver, and the new technique has made the frames much lighter than before. The road tests show the non-rolling carry-on luggage is as far better than the more common rolling luggage, because as there’s no wheels attached to the frame, few damages can happen. And, luggage is being transported more by others, like the taxi drivers, airline stuffs. So I recommend a metal frame because it is durable and tough to test tests.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate is used for hard-sided luggage. Polycarbonate luggage provides the best protection to its contents while still staying fairly lightweight and inexpensive.

Nylon and similar fabrics

Fabric and nylon luggage is lightweight and low-priced. Soft-sided, fabric luggage conforms to its contents and the shape of overhead storage bins very well, making it a good choice for carry-on luggage.

Carry as hand luggage

When you’re traveling by air, lightweight luggage that meets carry-on luggage size and weight requirements can be used as carry-on luggage, eliminating fees for checked baggage. The lighter weight luggage is easier to lift up to an overhead bin and to maneuver through an airport.

Reduce baggage fees

Almost all airlines charge a fee to check bags, but the fees are much higher if the luggage is over a certain weight. By using luggage that is lightweight, you can save a few pounds that might save you a lot of money.
